Francesinha
Porto's most famous sandwich, made the proper way. Sliced ham, smoked linguiça, and cured spiced sausage go between two thick slices of white bread. The whole sandwich is covered in mild melting cheese and baked until it forms a crust you have to cut through. We slowly simmer a sauce of tomato, beer, fresh chilli, and bay leaf. It is poured over the top while hot so it soaks into the bread. Fries are on the side. A cold Cerveja à Pressão, Portuguese tap beer, is the right thing to drink with it. Come hungry.
